Cage Trim · DN25–DN300 · PN16/PN40 · -10 to -15 dBA
Reguvale's cage-trimmed noise reduction control valve is engineered for high pressure drop, gas / steam and two-phase service where conventional valves suffer from cavitation, vibration and 95+ dBA aerodynamic noise. The multi-orifice cage breaks a single high-pressure drop into a series of small, controlled stages, reducing noise by 10-15 dBA and eliminating cavitation damage.
Available in single-stage, two-stage and multi-stage cage geometries matched to your specific pressure ratio and media. SS316 / Stellite trim and metal-to-metal seat handle steam, hot oil and gas at sustained +425°C. Pneumatic diaphragm or electric-motor actuator delivers modulating stroke with 4-20 mA positioner.
Standard sizes DN25–DN300 in PN16 / PN40 cover most steam let-down, gas pressure reduction and high-ΔP hydrocarbon service.
Multi-orifice cage breaks a single pressure drop into many small stages, cutting aerodynamic noise below OSHA 8-hour exposure limits.
Multi-stage geometry prevents bubble collapse near the trim, eliminating cavitation pitting and seat erosion in liquid service.
Single-, two- and multi-stage cages matched to your pressure ratio and media for optimum noise / cavitation trade-off.
SS316 / Stellite-faced trim and metal seat handle steam, hot oil and gas at sustained +425°C.
Cage, plug and seat ring can be replaced without removing the body from the line, simplifying stage upgrades.
Multi-spring diaphragm or reversing-motor actuator with 4-20 mA / HART positioner.

In high pressure drop, gas or steam service a standard globe produces 95+ dBA noise and suffers cavitation pitting. A cage-trimmed valve cuts noise 10-15 dBA and prevents cavitation by staging the pressure drop.
It depends on your pressure ratio and media. Single-stage for low ΔP.
Two-stage for steam let-down and gas pressure reduction.
Multi-stage for severe ΔP and two-phase hydrocarbon service.
Yes - cage-trimmed valves are the industry standard for steam turbine bypass and steam let-down stations where noise and erosion must be controlled.
Boiler and turbine bypass steam pressure reduction with low noise and long seat life.
Natural gas pressure-let-down from transmission to distribution pressure with low noise.
Hydrocracker let-down, FCCU slurry and reactor effluent pressure control.
High-ΔP recycle loop around gas compressors with anti-surge modulating duty.
