Three-Way Mixing / Diverting Control Valve

Mixing or Diverting · DN25–DN300 · PN16/PN40 · Replaceable Trim

Reguvale's three-way mixing / diverting control valve combines two inlet streams into one outlet (mixing) or splits one inlet into two outlets (diverting) using a single, field-reversible plug. It replaces two separate two-way valves plus a bypass, simplifying piping and reducing leak paths in temperature-blending, header-splitting and bypass loops.

The body is a true three-port globe with replaceable seat rings and a linear or equal-percentage plug. Plug rotation by 180° converts the same body between mixing and diverting duty, allowing a single SKU to cover both layouts. Pneumatic diaphragm or electric-motor actuators are both available.

Standard sizes DN25–DN300 in PN16 / PN40 cover most HVAC blending, district-heating bypass and chemical-mix loops. Stainless or alloy options are available on request.

Key Features

Mixing or Diverting

The same body converts between mixing (2-in / 1-out) and diverting (1-in / 2-out) by rotating the plug 180° in the field - one SKU covers both layouts.

Replaces Two Valves

A single three-way valve replaces two two-way valves plus bypass piping, saving cost, space and leak paths.

Replaceable Trim

Plug, seat rings and stem packing can be replaced without removing the body from the line.

Linear or Equal %

Linear characteristic suits constant-pressure drop loops (e.g. bypass); equal-percentage suits varying pressure drop (e.g. temperature blending).

Pneumatic or Electric

Compatible with the full range of Reguvale diaphragm and electric actuators.

True Three-Port Body

Three flanged ports in a single casting - no internal bypass leakage, no external piping mistake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mixing or diverting - what is the difference?

Mixing: two inlet streams blend into one outlet (e.g. hot/cold water blending).
Diverting: one inlet splits into two outlets (e.g. routing flow between two reactors). The same three-way body serves both duties with the plug rotated.

Can I use a three-way valve to replace two two-way valves?

Yes - a three-way valve replaces two two-ways plus bypass piping, reducing cost, space and leak paths in temperature-blending or header-splitting loops.

Which characteristic curve should I choose?

Linear for constant pressure drop (e.g. bypass).
Equal-percentage for varying pressure drop (e.g. blending).

Applications & Use Cases

HVAC Temperature Blending

Hot/cold water blending for air-handling units and fan-coil loops.

District Heating Bypass

Primary / secondary bypass and pressure-equalising loops in substations.

Chemical Mixing

Two-component reagent blending in water-treatment and process plants.

Reactor Flow Routing

Diverting feed between parallel reactors or product between storage tanks.
