Triple Offset Butterfly Valve — Metal-Seated, Zero-Friction

Class V Shutoff · Up to 550°C · Oil & Gas · Steam · Fire Safe

Reguvale’s triple offset butterfly valve (TOV) uses three geometric offsets so the metal disc contacts the seat only at the fully closed position — zero rubbing, zero friction, and metal-to-metal Class V bubble-tight shutoff.

Engineered for severe service: saturated and superheated steam up to 550°C, oil & gas pipelines, LNG, chemical processing and power generation. The TOV replaces gate and globe valves at a fraction of the weight and cost, with quarter-turn speed and fire-safe construction.

Body materials: ductile iron GGG50, carbon steel WCB, stainless steel CF8/CF8M. Seat: metal-to-metal (SS316 / hard-faced alloy). Flanged ends per EN 1092 / ASME B16.5. Available with manual gear, pneumatic or electric actuation.

DN50–DN2000 PN16/PN25/PN40 Class V Leakage -196°C to +550°C Fire Safe ISO 5211 Actuator Ready

Key Features

✓ Zero-Friction Metal Seat

Three offsets make the disc swing away from the seat immediately on opening — no rubbing, no wear, long cycle life.

✓ Class V Bubble-Tight Shutoff

Metal-to-metal sealing meets ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class V — ideal for steam, gas and flammable service.

✓ High Temperature to 550°C

Handles saturated and superheated steam, hot gas and thermal fluids that destroy rubber seats.

✓ Fire-Safe Construction

All-metal seat and fire-safe design meet API 607 requirements for flammable service.

✓ Quarter-Turn Speed

90° operation with manual gear, pneumatic or electric actuator — fast isolation and ESD response.

✓ Replaces Gate & Globe Valves

At a fraction of the weight and cost, with better shutoff and much faster operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a triple offset butterfly valve?

A TOV has three geometric offsets that make the metal disc contact the seat only at the fully closed position, with zero rubbing during opening and closing. This enables metal-to-metal Class V shutoff in steam, gas and high-temperature service.

What temperature can a triple offset butterfly valve handle?

Metal-seated triple offset butterfly valves operate up to 550°C, replacing gate and globe valves in high-temperature steam and process gas service.

Where are triple offset butterfly valves used?

TOVs are used in oil & gas pipelines, steam systems, chemical plants, power generation, LNG and other severe-service applications where bubble-tight metal shutoff and fire safety are required.

What is the difference between double offset and triple offset?

Double-offset valves have two offsets for reduced friction, typically with soft seats up to ~230°C. Triple-offset adds a conical seat geometry for metal-to-metal sealing, enabling Class V shutoff up to 550°C.
