Indonesia’s valve market is broad and geographically split. Java carries the largest concentration of manufacturing, food processing and water infrastructure, served through Tanjung Priok for Jakarta and Tanjung Perak for Surabaya. SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) is the national standard family, and certain product categories require mandatory SNI certification before they can be imported and sold. Whether that applies to a specific valve order depends on the product scope and the end user, so it is worth confirming early rather than after the goods are on the water.
For industrial valves the governing document is usually the project specification issued by the EPC contractor, consultant or plant owner. Indonesian enquiries commonly reference API 609 and EN 593 for butterfly valves, API 600 and API 602 for gate valves, API 6D for pipeline valves, and EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates for material traceability. Potable water duties often bring requirements such as NSF/ANSI 61 or WRAS listed components, and European-bound equipment may call for CE marking under the PED.
