Large-Diameter Flanged Butterfly Valve

Double Flanged · DN1200–DN3000 · PN10/PN16 · Waterworks & Hydropower

Reguvale's large-diameter flanged butterfly valve is purpose-built for large-bore pipelines where reliable isolation and low head loss matter. The double-flanged body is cast in ductile iron or carbon steel and coated with epoxy for corrosion protection, while the concentric rubber-lined disc delivers bubble-tight shut-off and low operating torque.

Size range runs from DN1200 to DN3000 (48\" to 120\") with pressure ratings of PN10 and PN16. Typical operation is a heavy-duty worm gear for manual valves; electric, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators are available for automated installations. The photos show a DN1200 unit being fitted with a worm gear operator in our Tianjin workshop, alongside multiple valves ready for waterworks projects.

These valves are widely used in water transmission, pumping stations, treatment plants, cooling water systems, reservoirs and hydropower stations. Each valve is hydrostatically tested and can be supplied with material and test certificates on request.

Double-Flanged Construction

Integral flanges on both ends provide full structural support and easy alignment in large pipework.

Low Head Loss Design

Concentric disc profile and smooth rubber seat give excellent flow capacity and low pressure drop.

Heavy-Duty Operation

Multi-stage worm gear, electric actuator, pneumatic actuator or hydraulic actuator options for every size.

Waterworks Materials

Ductile iron or carbon steel body, SS304/SS316 disc, EPDM/NBR seat; epoxy coating for long field life.

Factory Tested

Shell and seat pressure tests performed at our Tianjin factory; MTC and test certificates available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are considered large-diameter for butterfly valves?

Generally, butterfly valves above DN600 (24") are considered large-diameter. Reguvale's large-diameter flanged range starts at DN1200 and goes up to DN3000, with PN10 and PN16 pressure ratings.

Common questions about large-diameter flanged butterfly valves answered by our engineering team.

Are large-diameter flanged butterfly valves suitable for waterworks?

Yes. The double-flanged body and rubber-lined concentric disc are ideal for clean water, raw water, cooling water and hydropower. They are commonly used in pumping stations, treatment plants, reservoir outlets and distribution mains.

What actuator options are available for DN1200 and above?

Manual operation usually uses a heavy-duty multi-stage worm gear. For automated operation we offer electric actuators (on-off or modulating), pneumatic actuators with scotch-yoke or rack-and-pinion mechanisms, and hydraulic actuators for the largest sizes.

Can you provide factory inspection and test certificates?

Yes. Every valve is hydrostatically tested at the factory. We can provide material test certificates (MTC), hydrostatic test reports, shell and seat test certificates, and third-party inspection by SGS or other appointed agencies on request.
